Peoples in Tibet, South Mongolia (Inner Mongolia) and Uyghur (East Turkistan) are independent peoples with own languages, cultures and history and they are totally different ethnics from Han. Being occupied as inextricable parts of China since modern age, the 3 peoples are facing the extripation. Education in their own languages and religious activities are banned, ethnic cultures and histories are denied and they are being assimilated by China.
In crisis, Japan Uyghur Association proposed world first joint protest and demonstration of the 3 ethnics believing that 3 ethnic groups must stand up together to stop the brutal dominance of Chinese government.
To show the conscience of the Japanese people, your cooperation and participation will be deeply appreciated.

Resolution

True multiethnic coexistence: A symposium on the resolution for ethnic solidarity among Tibet, Southern Mongolia and East Turkistan.
Today in Tokyo, Japan we participated in a symposium entitled, "True multiethnic coexistence: A symposium on the resolution for ethnic solidarity among Tibet, Southern Mongolia and East Turkistan." It has become clear that all three ethnic groups are facing a similar situation.

Namely a forced assimilation under the current Chinese Communist party dictatorship. This forced assimilation destroys the native language, historical tradition and culture while also resulting in accusations of terrorist activity when demands for the basic right to exercise self-determination, a fundamental principle in international law, are made. It has been determined that this is nothing more than a thinly veiled ethnic cleansing policy put into practice by an oppressive regime.

Furthermore, thorough environmental destruction of living areas has resulted in ethnic groups being unable to continue their traditional lifestyles while nuclear testing has only added to the myriad of human induced disasters. The Silk Road, which brought a rich exchange between Eastern and Western civilization is now in danger of exposure to nuclear pollution.

This of particular concern to those peoples of Eastern Turkistan who fear for their health and the health of future generations in the area. We consider the root cause of this tragedy to be a result of the Chinese Communist Party administration's autocracy.

We feel that unless the Chinese Communist leadership can accept racial autonomy, freedom of speech, the establishment of democracy and recognize the right of self-determination that it should not continue to remain in power. We furthermore believe that a country with a policy of ethnic cleansing and environmental destruction does not qualify to be a permanent member of the UN Security Council. We call for the international community to express their displeasure with the Chinese Communist leadership by immediately introducing sanctions.

Our own government of Japan, as well as in the general Japanese public, where the values of freedom and democracy are respected and the historically respected right to self-determination as well as a deep commitment to the improvement of the global environment exists, must not ignore what is being carried out in our neighboring country of China.

We hereby urge the governments Japan and China to do the following:

1. We urge the Chinese Communist Party leadership to end the current autocracy and allow freedom of speech, the establishment of democracy and to recognize the right of self-determination for all three ethnic territories discussed.
2. We demand that the Chinese Communist Party administration stop nuclear testing in areas where nuclear pollution is feared and take the appropriate steps to improve conditions based the recommendations of an independent international team of investigators.
3. We urge the Japanese government to ensure that the Chinese government carries out the above two points, or at least demonstrates the country's opinion by following through with economic measures such as sanctions, embargoes and removal of economic support if they are not met.
4. We urge the Japanese government to protest the ethnic cleansing policies of the Chinese Communist Party's administration and at the same time as supporting the independence and human rights movements accept those from these aforementioned areas who are seeking political asylum in Japan.

We, the participants of today's symposium, have together voluntarily and openly prepared this statement. We are committed to continue in solidarity with the three ethnic groups, all Chinese nationals who recognize indigenous rights, and the international community until the above demands have been met.

October 18, 2008 the participants of the "True multiethnic coexistence: A symposium on the resolution for ethnic solidarity among Tibet, Southern Mongolia and East Turkistan." symposium.
